Project details
Mitto is an innovative mobile application designed to help users manage their finances in a responsible and sustainable way, while promoting a healthier planet. Our team was responsible for creating the compelling narrative around the Mitto brand, which centered on a clear purpose and a positive impact for both the user and the environment.
Together with the Product Manager, Tech Team, and Design Team, we developed the Mitto mobile application using React Native technology, making it available for both iOS and Android platforms. After launching the Minimum Viable Product (MVP), we worked closely with the business team to iterate the product and tailor it to the market and user needs.
To ensure that Mitto continued to deliver value to its users, we conducted extensive research sessions, user tests, and focus groups, which helped refine and improve Mitto's offerings. By incentivizing sustainable behavior and offering discounts on eco-friendly brands, Mitto enabled users to make environmentally conscious purchases and calculate the CO2 footprint of their spending.
Overall, our team was proud to have contributed to the creation of Mitto, a highly effective and sustainable tool for managing finances while promoting a healthier planet.

Users
In the Mitto project, we recognized the importance of creating tailored user experiences based on distinct user types, which informed our design and development of specialized user flows. By identifying three key user groups—Parent, Child, and Over 18—we ensured that our application addresses the unique needs and relationships that each user type has with financial management. This strategy enhances usability, supports educational growth, and encourages responsible financial habits.
In here you can see an example of one of the flows:
- Parent: This user type includes individuals over 18 years old who are responsible for managing their child's financial activities. Parents can link their accounts to their children, allowing them to:
- Monitor spending habits and set financial goals.
- Receive alerts for transactions, ensuring they remain informed about their child’s financial behavior.
- Access educational resources within the app to guide their children towards responsible financial practices.
- Child: Aimed at users under 18, this account type requires a parental link for full functionality. The Child user interface is designed to:
- Foster an understanding of basic financial concepts, including budgeting and saving.
- Provide insights into their spending habits in a simplified manner, promoting financial literacy from an early age.
- Allow parents to assign tasks or savings goals, encouraging children to engage with their finances actively.
- Over 18: This group encompasses users aged 18 and older who can manage their finances independently. They benefit from:
- Full access to all financial tools without needing a parental account, allowing for complete autonomy.
- Features designed to track spending, budget effectively, and calculate their carbon footprint, aligning with Mitto’s sustainability goals.
- Opportunities to engage with eco-friendly brands and receive discounts, incentivizing environmentally conscious purchasing decisions.

Workflow Overview
The structured workflows for each user type not only enhance the user experience but also create a supportive ecosystem for responsible financial management.
- User Onboarding: Each user type undergoes a tailored onboarding process, ensuring they understand how to navigate the app and utilize its features effectively. For example, parents receive guidance on linking their accounts to children, while children learn how to manage their allowances.
- Personalized Dashboards: Depending on the user type, dashboards display relevant information, such as spending summaries for parents, educational resources for children, and comprehensive financial insights for users over 18.
- Feedback Mechanisms: Regular user testing sessions, focus groups, and feedback loops were integral to refining these workflows. Engaging users in this manner allowed us to iterate on the design, ensuring that it met their needs and provided a seamless experience.
